Summer Wrap-Up
It's already October and I'm trying to relax after an intense summer. I started a full-time job in June, gave up my old flat to move in with my beloved partner, and have been working very hard on my novel-in-progress at the Granta Writer's Workshop. Altogether, it was a bit much. I haven't had much of a break this summer, so I'm looking forward to hibernating into the fall.
This summer saw the publication of my short humour piece in McSweeney's Internet Tendency, a flash short-story in hex literary, and a reprint of my first-ever published short story in Inner Worlds. I had another short-story in the Sore anthology and one in the Triangulation: Dark Hearts antho as well. My contributor copy of Dark Hearts somehow made a brief stop in Germany but ended up being sent to China, from which it hasn't returned. Jessica Carver, the fabulous editor, was kind enough to send me another copy, which my parents will be bringing me at Christmas.

Another big highlight this summer: reading my short story Parasite's Grief at Tropez! I know the audience here looks incredibly uplifted by my tale of symbiosis and death, but I promise they had a good time. It was about 34 degrees out and there was frozé available, so it was a vibe. Thanks to the curators, Nele and Sophie, for selecting my piece for the summer's event series. For those who missed it, you can preorder ECO24: Year's Best Speculative Ecofiction and get 30% off ;)
The anthology got a starred review in Publisher's Weekly:
"A triumph. 23 stellar tales offering creative and varied takes on the book's themes. Every entry is equal parts thought-provoking, insightful, and impactful." —Publishers Weekly Starred Review
Ok one last pic of me reading to close out this update.

Oh yeah, I got that cool new leg tat this summer too, lol. It took four hours, during which I read the entirety of Our Wives Under The Sea in a delirium of pain.
See you at the year-end wrap up, and thanks for reading ;)
